Protect a paid endpoint with one Hilt SDK wrapper

Hilt SDK 1.4.0 packages the complete metered-request loop for Fetch-compatible and Python services.

  • The TypeScript protectEndpoint wrapper atomically consumes usage before serving billable work.
  • When usage is missing, the wrapper returns Hilt's HTTP 402 payment requirement, settles the buyer's Solana USDC payment signature, and retries consumption.
  • Python services can use protect_request as the same framework-neutral decision boundary.
  • Settlement, receipt, entitlement, and usage remain separate states, with retry-safe handling that does not ask a buyer to pay twice.
  • The buyer agent pays through x402 V2 while the protected API keeps its request body, result, and Hilt credential on the server.
